Your room is available from 4 p.m. on the day of arrival. If you arrive earlier, you’re very welcome to use our spa world from 1 p.m. We kindly ask you to check out by 12 noon on the day of departure. After vacating your room, you can still use our spa world until 5 p.m.

Yes, our reception is open 24/7.

There is a limited number of free outdoor parking spaces available. We charge €12 per night for a parking space in our garage. Please reserve your parking space before arrival.

We have several charging stations for electric cars available in our garage. The charging is calculated according to consumption.

Upon arrival, we’re happy to pick you up free of charge from the train station in Oberstaufen. Please inform us in advance of your exact time of arrival. Allgäu Sonne can also be easily reached by taxi or train or from the airports of Stuttgart, Munich, Friedrichshafen, Memmingen, and Zurich. We are always happy to organise a suitable and inexpensive transfer for you. During the day, you also have the option of taking our bus to the town centre free of charge at set times.

We accept the following credit cards: Girocard/Maestro, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

To cancel your booking, please use the same method as for the reservation. Also, keep the current cancellation deadline in mind to avoid unwanted cancellation costs.

Regardless of the time of booking, cancellation is free of charge up to 14 days before arrival. For cancellations at short notice, we charge you 80% of the first night. The same applies to the remaining nights in case of early departure. Cancellations are only accepted in writing.

Special rules apply to the period from 22 December to 3 January.

Yes, we guarantee that you’ll always get the best rate on our website. If you book directly, there are more room categories to choose from and we’ll reimburse €10 per adult on the additional services (catering, spa, bars). Furthermore, you enjoy access to exclusive offers. During the year, we regularly offer you special rates. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed.

All our rooms are non-smoking areas. In case of non-compliance, we charge an additional 2 nights (or more).

Clothes you would like to have cleaned can be handed in at reception daily by 9 a.m. Upon request, you will get them back within 9 hours. We’ll return your ironing within one hour if required. Just inform us at reception. Furthermore, we offer you a sewing service. Simply contact reception.

When booking your room, please inform us if you want to visit us with your pet, as not all rooms are pet-friendly.

We ask for your understanding that four-legged friends are not permitted in all areas of the main hotel building, including the restaurants, sports/fitness areas, lounges, as well as on the sunbathing lawn and sun terrace. We charge €15 per animal/day without food.

Allgäu Sonne is located on a sunny southern slope above Oberstaufen, with spectacular view of the Allgäu mountains. The Oberstaufen town centre can be reached in 10 minutes by foot. Our shuttle bus will take you to the town and back to the hotel at scheduled times.

You will find the size of the bed in the description of the respective room category. In our 149 rooms and suites, you sleep in single beds (width: 1.10-1.40m) or in double beds (width: 1.60-1.80m) in the suites and double rooms.

In some of our rooms, we can provide an extra bed. Please ask for the costs at the time of reservation.

Upon request, we are happy to provide baby cots (some with changing mat), diaper pails, kettles, baby bathtubs, baby towels, and, if required, a bottle warmer free of charge. Simply ask at reception.

Yes, all our rooms are equipped with hairdryers.

There is a minibar in your room with drinks available for a fee. Besides the range of drinks in your room, you can visit the beverage station in our spa area and fitness world and enjoy tea and water free of charge during the day.

You’ll find a bathrobe as well as slippers for your stay provided in your room. If you need another size, please ask at reception. Towels are available in the sauna, pool area, or fitness world.

For safety reasons, the use of an iron is not permitted in the hotel rooms. You’re free to use our ironing room on the third floor or have your laundry ironed for a fee.

We are happy to equip your room with allergy-friendly beds. Simply inform us of your wish when booking or contact reception.

Every morning from 7 a.m. to 10.30 a.m., we serve our extensive Allgäu Sonne breakfast buffet with regional products.

Breakfast is included in our room rates.

Our restaurants are open at the following times:

• Lunch (Schroth & à la carte): 12 noon to 1.30 p.m.
• Gourmet half board and à la carte: 6 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
• Small menu: 12 noon to 9.30 p.m.

For dinner, we serve you our 5-course gourmet menu to choose from (themed buffet on Saturdays, gala menu on Sundays). We recommend booking our gourmet half board in advance for €52 per person/night. If booked on-site, we charge €62 per person/night. In the case of cancellation during your stay, we will refund €42 per person/night. For the original Schroth diet including cure drinks we charge €32 per person and day, the Metabolic Balance diet according to your individual diet plan costs €52 per person and day.

Please inform us in advance about any allergies, food intolerances, or dietary preferences (e.g. vegetarian or vegan) so that we can cater to your individual needs.

In our restaurant, we offer regional cuisine with quality products from the region. Furthermore, we offer our guests the Metabolic Balance diet and original Oberstaufen Schroth diet.

Our bar in our spacious Panoramahalle bar is open from 2.30 p.m. to midnight. You are welcome to place your order at the reception beforehand.

Our Stießbergstüble dance bar is open daily from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. and offers live music.

You are always welcome to dine with us, even if you are not a guest of Allgäu Sonne.

Our spa world features two indoor pools, an outdoor pool in summer, a whirlpool, a steam bath, and a panorama sauna. Our pool is 12 x 6 metres and has a water temperature of approx. 28 degrees Celsius. The adventure pool is 10 metres in diameter and has a temperature of approx. 31 degrees Celsius. The water temperature in our whirlpool (3 metres in diameter) is approx. 35 degrees Celsius. The outdoor pool is heated to approx. 27 degrees Celsius. The temperature in the steam bath is approx. 44 degrees Celsius, in the panorama sauna approx. 83 degrees Celsius.

• Pools: daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Sauna/steam bath: daily (expect Wednesdays) from 9.30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Towels are available both in the spa area and sauna. For hotel guests, slippers and bathrobe are provided in the room.

Children under the age of 12 may only enter the pool if accompanied by an adult; to enter the saunas, they must be at least 14 years of age.

Our wellness area is – due to capacity reasons – exclusively reserved for our hotel guests. Thank you for your understanding.

Our 235m² fitness world is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Our trainers will be happy to instruct you on the correct use of the equipment and create your personal training plan by appointment (€25). Children under the age of 14 are only allowed to enter the gym if accompanied and supervised by an adult.

In order to be able to offer our guests a large bike selection and the corresponding security service, we do not have our own rental station, but prefer to work with real professionals. Please contact reception – our team will be happy to advise you and find the right bike for you. Our driver will then bring you to our partner shop Sport Hauber in Oberstaufen, where your bike is already waiting for you.

To ensure that you also receive your desired bike on weekends, we recommend reserving it online in advance at Sport Hauber. Guests of Allgäu Sonne pay €30/day (instead of €40/day) for an e-mountain bike. Please bring your Allgäu Walser Card with you, which you can get at our reception on request. Sport Hauber is open from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You are welcome to bring your own bicycle/e-bike and store it in our bike cellar. E-bikes can be charged.

Our sports instructors offer up to eight different daily sports courses on six days a week (Monday through Saturday). The current sports plan is available here.

Our sports instructors offer guided hikes for guests on six days a week (Monday through Saturday). Once or twice a week, there is an additional hiking tour or mountain excursion.

Oberstaufen in Allgäu is the only Schroth health spa in Germany as well as the German centre for the application of the Schroth cure. The naturopathy is practiced according to traditional methods in Oberstaufen and the guidelines are still strictly controlled by the German Schroth Association e.V. Schroth wraps consist of three phases, during which you will be wrapped in cold wraps.

Our team will wake you up from 4 a.m. with a small breakfast consisting of tea and Schroth rusks.

For the original Schroth diet including cure drinks, we charge €28 per person and day (€32 from 03.01.24).

Bring your current blood test results from your GP to avoid further blood sampling. If you are taking any drugs, please bring them with you. The dosage can often be reduced during the Schroth Cure. Here is a list of another 11 things you’ll need for the Schroth Cure.
